• JEF presents to its members the ideal combination of "Politics & Fun" designing a wide variety of activities, such as international exchanges, campaigns and pan-European actions, for a new and stronger European Union that is able to rise to the cross-border challenges of our interconnected societies. 

Project team

Elisa Lironi, Digital Democracy Manager for the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS).

She develops and leads ECAS’ Digital Democracy agenda by implementing projects and publishing studies on this focus area. She is currently implementing two EU projects, ‘DEEP-linking Youth’ and ‘EUCROWD’, and is researching on the potential and challenges of e-participation, e-consultation and crowdsourcing at the EU level.

She also coordinates ECAS’ Support Centre on the European Citizens’ Initiative.

Drenusha Suka, International Officer of Europeisk Ungdom (JEF Norway)

In June 2015, she completed  her bachelor degree in the study program Democracy and Rights in the Information Society at University of Oslo. She is currently completing her two years MA in eGovernment studies at University of Oslo.

The master thesis includes an analysis of the case handling system that processes application from foreign nationals for visa to Norway, being operating by The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration. The research questions addresses to what extend and how part of these processes may be automated or assisted by ICT systems. With the BA and MA she is specialised on how local, regional and national societies uses digital tools to communicate citizens rights and duties. 

Valentin Chaput, co-founder of Open Source Politics

With a ten years background in French and European politics and public affairs, Valentin co-founded Open Source Politics (http://www.opensourcepolitics.eu/) and Open Democracy Now hackathons to promote the development of civic digital commons. In 2016, he wrote a report for the French think-tank point d’ancrage and gave academic lectures on the impact of the digital revolution on democracy.

 

Sven Retoré, Trainer

Trainer since 2007 and working on a wide variety of topics (learning, human rights, critical thinking, intercultural learning,....), he always has been passionate about youth participation. This is one of the reasons which got him involved in the Structured Dialogue process over the last 4 years. Since then, he added the layer of online participation, especially being involved in the #BePart seminar and the #BePart summit where organizations who are active in the field of online participation meet and share ideas and knowledge.

Do they need to be presented?
  
Valentin Dupouey, actively involved in the youth field, has been appointed as new Secretary General of JEF Europe in April 2016. During the next two years, his main objective will be to strengthen JEF Europe and its sections throughout Europe, to help them develop to ensure JEF's political impact grows even stronger at all levels. 

True believer in a stronger Europe, Sonja Afanasjeva wants to see young generation more active and engaged in the European life. To contribute to that goal, beside her position as Project Officer of JEF Europe, she is also leading Brussels Model European Union, an annual international simulation of EU decision-making process.
