Europe@myDesk in Poland
The
second DeskEvent took place between 20 and 23 October in Warsaw. Two
workshops were held at the European Commission office in the centre
of Warsaw. The first one was dedicated to Project management and
fundraising. The participants were then divided in groups and had to
develop their own project (budget, sponsors, target group...).
The
second day, the trainers visited two high schools (35th Bolesław
Prus High school and Bednarska High school). After a short
presentation of the European Union (History, Institutions...), they
presented the different opportunities offered by the European
Commission for the youth (EVS, Erasmus/Socrates, Leonardo, Comenius
etc.) and ended with a quiz.
The last day was dedicated to
the workshop on youth journalism and the new web technology. After a
digital presentation to present the new web tools (RSS feed,
Delicious, twitter, bit.ly etc.), the participants had the
opportunity to put into practice and develop a new strategy to
promote an event for their organisation.
A big thank you to
Dominika Rutkowska for her help and enthusiasm and all the
participants for their participation.

event can be found here.

JEF international seminar in Tarxien, Malta | 17-23 October 2010 “The ultimate solution for a better life: (im)migration?” is an international seminar organised by JEF-Europe and JEF-Malta in Tarxien, a small village in the south east of Malta from 17 until 23 October 2010. When speaking about immigration it is important to make the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants. Despite the obvious difference in their legal status, immigrants in both categories often feel unwelcome and excluded from their host societies, which is closely linked to xenophobic attitudes widespread across Europe and openly manifested especially in recent years, but also the lack of adequate policies and assistance of governmental institutions in host countries. |
