Call for candidatures to the Pool of Trainers of JEF 2009-10!

!!! NEW DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS TUESDAY 31 MAY 2009 !!!

JEF-Europe (Young European Federalists) is setting up a Pool of Trainers and is therefore looking for trainers and facilitators interested in being part of a dynamic resource group ready to undertake the exciting challenge of voluntarily working and to meet the needs of our new project Europe@myDesk, which is an information campaign about European issues among pupils and students across the EU.

Are you a top professional in your field, with a passion to teach and share your knowledge and experience? Or an enthusiastic and experienced JEFer that would like to put his/her knowledge to the test and pass on the experience to new members?

We’re looking for qualified trainers with expertise, passion and teaching experience. If you are interested in being part of the JEF Pool of Trainers, apply now ! This call aims to bring together the most qualified young people from the organisation in the Pool of Trainers' database which aim will be that of raising the prominence and standard of future JEF activities.

Profile of the members of the JEF Pool of Trainers:

  • The trainers must be active members of a JEF section be it at local/regional/national or international level and/or active members of similar organisations

  • The trainers will have at least one experience in running a training at the European or international level (as a full time trainer);

  • The trainers will have a good knowledge of training pedagogy, methods and methodologies;

  • The trainers must have a good knowledge of JEF and have an overview of JEF policies;

  • The trainers must have a good knowledge of the European and international institutions;

  • The trainers must be familiar with youth work realities at the national, European and global level;

  • The trainers must have a good understanding of and experience with intercultural learning;

  • The trainers must not be more than 35 years old by the end of 2010;

  • The trainers have to be able to speak and train in English. Knowledge of other languages is highly desirable – particularly German, Spanish and French.

  • Experience in developing new methodology and incorporation and usage of innovative approaches will be considered as a plus

Please keep in mind that the JEF Pool of Trainers is a voluntary based group within JEF and not a paid job, except the usual travel, accommodation and substance costs being covered in the events for which a training/intervention is being undertaken.

JEF international seminar in Tarxien, Malta | 17-23 March 2010

The ultimate solution for a better life: (im)migration?” is an international seminar organised by JEF-Europe and JEF-Malta in Tarxien, a small village in the south east of Malta from 17 until 23 October 2010.

When speaking about immigration it is important to make the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants. Despite the obvious difference in their legal status, immigrants in both categories often feel unwelcome and excluded from their host societies, which is closely linked to xenophobic attitudes widespread across Europe and openly manifested especially in recent years, but also the lack of adequate policies and assistance of governmental institutions in host countries.
